Nice to Meet You!

My name is Diana Emely Wiebe

I am an adventurer living with Lupus and Bopolarity Type 2. I come from a Mennonite community in Mexico and migrated to the US when I was 14 years old.  Since I was a teenager I felt symptoms in my body that were not normal at my age. I struggled to walk and felt a lot of pain. My mother took me to many specialists to help me but none of them could figure out what was wrong. By the time I was in college, my health got so bad I had to drop out of all of my classes. I decided to go to the student health center at my university and that's when I got diagnosed with Lupus thanks to a general nurse. Along with lupus, I also got diagnosed with severe depression and bipolarity,  For years I thought my life would never be normal and I wouldn't be able to live like any other young adult  When I first started getting episodes and flare-ups I didn't have much support from my family because they couldn't understand what was happening to me. They also didn't know how to help me. I felt alone, lost, and hopeless for years. Sometimes I'd convince myself that I'd be better off dead. No one deserves to feel that way. Once I tried to commit suicide and saw my mother in so much pain to see her daughter want to die. This is when I  made the decision to make a change and treat my body with love and care. To do that, I had to learn different ways to be healthy (like eating healthy and exercising). Don't get me wrong though, it wasn't easy at first. Even though I was intentional about learning healthy habits, sometimes I failed and gave in to my bad habits. However, with consistency and perseverance, I've been improving every day to stick to the good habits. It's okay to fall sometimes, it happens to everyone who is improving their lives. I once read from Atomic Habits that there is no need to make drastic changes to see results. In fact, just improving at least 1% every day will make a huge in the long run. It took time for me to learn and accept that improvement is not a straight slope up, but a squiggle. I have been on many medications and have been going to therapy for years to help myself heal and grow. No one deserves to feel this way, Going to therapy, reading personal development books, and spending time outdoors has helped me heal and improve, but it did take a long time. I created this website to share with you everything I have learned throughout my years of recovery and to help you get to where you want to be sooner than it took me. I want this website to help you feel understood, and give guidance to improving your health in case you don't know how to start. This website is also meant to help people learn how to help an ill loved one.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We're in this together!
